Feeding Our Community This Holiday Season: Record Breaking Food Drive Success

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed food, money, and gift cards to our Holiday Food Drive benefiting the Storehouse (Covington’s Foodbank). We’re thrilled to share that our event was a huge success, surpassing our goal of 1000 lbs!

In just 4 hours, we collected:

  • 1340 pounds of non-perishable food and personal hygiene products

  • $1,287 in monetary donations

Our community's generosity is truly awe-inspiring. Thanks to your kindness, many local families facing food insecurity will receive blessings and grocery assistance this holiday season.

Together, we provided hope for those in need right here in our Covington community. It was incredibly inspiring to see so many residents come together to support their neighbors struggling with hunger.

Special thanks to our incredible student volunteers from the Kentwood Dance Team (Kentwood High School) and Diamond Dance Team at (Meridian & Mattson Middle School). Witnessing these young people actively participating and contributing makes me hopeful for our future.

Also, a big thank you to the management at our local Covington Safeway on 272nd St for graciously providing us space to set up inside the store and gather non-perishable food donations.

Hosting these food drives fulfills my desire to help others, yet they end up benefiting me more than I contribute. Seeing our community unite restores my faith in humanity.

The generosity shown by our Covington neighbors this November proves we can accomplish great things when we come together. Thank you again to all who contributed and volunteered! Here’s to continuing this spirit of giving all year long.

Xo,

Diana & Cory
